This Privacy Policy explains how BingeMark ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website. BingeMark is operated by a single individual based in Belgium and is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

a) Account Data
When you register or log in using a third-party provider (Facebook, Discord, Google, or TikTok), we receive the following information from that provider:
- Your name or display name
- Your email address
- Your profile picture (if provided by the platform)
- A unique identifier from the provider
We do not receive your password from any of these providers.
b) Email & Password Registration
If you register using an email address and password, we store:
- Your email address
- Your password, stored securely as a hashed value (we never store passwords in plain text)
c) Usage Data
We collect data about how you use BingeMark, including:
- Shows you have watched, are watching, or have added to your list
- Ratings and reviews you submit
- Interactions with other users (follows, activity feed)
d) Technical Data
When you visit BingeMark, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type
- Pages visited and time spent on them
This data is collected via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics (see Section 5).

We collect and process your data for the following purposes:

4. Third-Party Login Providers
When you sign in using Facebook, Discord, Google, or TikTok, you are also subject to their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review them:

5. Analytics & Tracking
We use the following analytics tools to understand how users interact with BingeMark:
Google Analytics — Collects anonymised usage data such as page views, session duration, and device type. Google may process this data on servers outside the EU. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
Vercel Analytics — Collects anonymised performance and traffic data. This data is processed by Vercel and is subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Neither tool is used to identify you personally or serve you advertisements.
6. Cookies
BingeMark uses cookies to keep you logged in and to support analytics. You can control cookie behaviour through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the site.

7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:
- With login providers (as described in Section 4), to authenticate your account.
- With analytics providers (as described in Section 5), in anonymised form.
- Where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

- Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — Request deletion of your data (see our Data Deletion page).
- Restriction — Request that we limit how we use your data.

- Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
BingeMark is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Under GDPR, users between 13 and 16 may require parental consent depending on their country of residence within the EU.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of BingeMark after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
